The 1996-1997 seasons were Mike Piazza’s best seasons as a Dodger. In 1996 he hit .336 with 36 home runs and the next hit .362 with 40 homers. Both seasons he finished second in the MVP voting and brought him closer to the lifetime stats that would earn him a plaque in Cooperstown. Piazza’s 1996-97 Mizuno World Win model bat shows great game use with a handle crack. The barrel contains many ball marks and scuffs along with bat rack paint streaks and ink transfers. The handle has a light coat of pine tar and Piazza’s number “31” has been handwritten in blue on both ends. To complete this early Piazza gamer, the Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in black marker, adding “G/U.” This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B03045) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.5 and a COA from PSA/DNA (4A10534) for the signature.
