In 2006 veteran shortstop Carlos Guillen hit .320 and helped lead the Tigers to their first World Series appearance in over two decades. In the series Guillen played in all five games and hit .353 with 2 RBI and a stolen base. This is the jersey he wore for Games 3, 4 and 5 played in St. Louis. “Detroit” runs across the front of the road jersey in navy, white and orange tackle twill. Guillen’s “9” appears below that and navy piping runs around the collar and down the front. The special 2006 World Series patch is sewn to the left sleeve and Majestic label is stitched to the lower right front tail. MLB hologram sticker number BB 300853 is affixed and “JS” and “G” is hand-written in black marker on the label.
An additional white tag with “9 48 06 264” is sewn below. The back has the MLB logo patch on the collar and “GUILLEN” with his number “9” in navy, white and orange tackle twill. The jersey shows light use. Very colorful and attractive piece of World Series history.
