Considered by many to be the best baseball player who ever lived, Babe Ruth was truly ahead of his time when he played. During his 22-year career that ended in 1935, he totaled 714 HRs, a figure that wasn’t broken until Hank Aaron hit his 715th HR in 1974. This vintage Spalding Challenger glove is light brown with signs as usage as minor stains are on the outside of the mitt, while the inside has darkened from non-stop play. The Spalding Stamp on the mitt has faded some and the owner’s name is permanently displayed on the wristband. Babe Ruth’s inscription on the mitt is noticeable and legible and the webbing and wristband are still intact.
