Presented is an original German Army officer’s sword circa World War II, with original scabbard and chain hanger. The 37-inch sword has a 33-inch engraved steel blade with a floral motif. The carved brass guard has heraldic imagery on the locket, with a lion’s head ornament on the cross guard. The carved hilt features a floral motif on the handle, and a lion’s head on the pommel. The lion’s head has two red stones in the eyes of the lion. The scabbard is also bronze, with a chain hanger with two lion’s head decorations on the pendant. There is no rust or obvious damage to the sword, minor discoloration on the scabbard. The hilt is gold with black wire on the grip. There are no National Socialist German Workers’ Party symbols or imagery on this item.
