Offered is a Bill Clinton signature on a commemorative baseball for his second inauguration as President of the United States on January 20, 1997. Clinton has signed his name in black marker to the right of the sweet spot on the illustrated baseball, which features a pair of reproduction color head and shoulder photographs of the 42nd President with the legend “Inauguration Day William Jefferson Clinton January 20, 1997” in blue and red type. The sweet spot is filled with an image of the American flag, while the ball has red and blue stitches. Clinton was elected president in 1992, defeating incumbent Republican opponent George H. W. Bush. At age 46, he became the third-youngest president and the first from the Baby Boomer generation. Clinton presided over the longest period of peacetime economic expansion in American history. He signed into law the North American Free Trade Agreement but failed to pass his plan for national health care reform. Clinton became the first Democrat since Franklin D. Roosevelt to be elected to a second full term. This item comes with a full LOA from Beckett Authentication (A52462).
