Offered is a complete set of this scarce 1880s trade card issue, known as Baby Talk. These full color litho cards feature young children of the day in baseball scenes, uttering baseball humorous sounding phrases. Two of the H804-1A complete set of nine cards are blank backed while the balance have various localized advertisers. As is the case with many of these 19th Century trade cards from that era, some cards also have advertisements on the obverse. All nine cards have been graded by SGC. Includes: SGC 50 VG/EX 4 - 1 card, “I Ain’t Do’En To Pay”; SGC 40 VG 3 – 1 card, “I’Se Bo’En Home”; SGC 20 FAIR 1.5 – 4 cards w/”I’se Dot Dere Fir’t,” “I’se Dot It,” “No, I Didn’ Strike at Dat,” “Tum On,” “Ets’ P’ay Ball”; SGC AUTH – 3 cards w/”Ain’t Dot Out!,” “See Me Tech It” and “I Sink I Tan Hit It.” This is a nice collection of these trade cards, rarely seen in complete set form. All cards SGC Graded.
