The 1975 Boston Red Sox were a special team. Coming off the collapse of 1974, the Red Sox were looking to knock the Orioles off their AL East perch. With the emergence of young stars Fred Lynn, Hall of Famer Jim Rice and the steady presence of Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk. Fisk, who after an early-season injury, returned to steady the ship and was a major factor in the Red Sox pulling away from Baltimore, winning the American League East by 4 ½ games and sweeping the three-time defending champion Oakland A’s in the ALCS.

Fisk would go on to hit one of the most memorable home runs in World Series history, when his 12th-inning walk-off home run off the left field foul pole at Fenway Park, forced the deciding Game 7 against the might Cincinnati Reds “Big Red Machine”. While the Red Sox ultimately fell in the classic World Series, Fisk’s home run is the lasting memory of that historic series.

Offered here is the pair of home white Boston Red Sox pants worn by Hall of Famer Carlton Fisk during the 1975 season and for his historic home run in Game 6 of the World Series. The pants, which are now more of a cream color due to toning with age, are a size 33 waist and 25 inseam and have an expandable waist band with red/navy/red striping and manufactured by McAuliffe Uniform Corp. of Brockton, Massachusetts. The inner waist lining has the McAuliffe tag, the “1975” tag below, “33” on the left and “25” on the right, along with Fisk’s number “27” embroidered in red. The pants display ample game wear with thin spots on the rear and knees from sliding. Fisk has signed these pants in black marker on the upper right leg and inscribed “STAY FAIR! STAY FAIR!” and “75 WS – Gm6 – HR”. These pants come with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (191106D11) for the game use and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A25390) for the signature and inscription.
