Following his Hall of Fame career where he batted a lofty .344, hit 521 home runs and was an American League MVP and Triple Crown winner twice, Ted Williams continued his association with the Boston Red Sox. Williams, following his retirement as a player in 1960, served as a special batting instructor from 1961-1966 and worked with future Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski during Yaz’s early years.

During the latter part of his duties as a special batting instructor, the greatest hitter who ever lived donned this road gray flannel Boston Red Sox road uniform dating to 1965 and 1966. The jersey is a size 46 button-down model manufactured by Tim McAuliffe Inc of Boston, MA. “BOSTON” is sewn on across the front in navy felt The McAuliffe tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail, along with a red “’65” and white “46” tags. The back of this jersey has Williams’ number “9” sewn on in McAuliffe-style navy font. The jersey displays light to moderate wear.

The matching flannel gray pants were also manufactured by Tim McAuliffe Inc. of Boston, MA. The inner waist lining is an off-white color with “Ted Williams” embroidered in red cursive script on the back inner waist. A “ ‘66” tag in red is next to Williams’ name and above and to the right of the year tag is the Tim McAuliffe tag. Additional embroidery includes “40 29” in red, which indicates the waist and inseam sizes. These pants display light to moderate use. A great full uniform set from one of the greatest ballplayers that ever lived. This uniform comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication (191106D1) for the use.
