Chipper Jones was the driving force behind a powerful Atlanta offense in 1996, hitting for a .309 batting average with 30 longballs and a team-high 110 RBI. The Braves reached the World Series for the second consecutive year, where they faced the New York Yankees. The Braves fought the Yankees tooth and nail but were ultimately unable to defend their World Series title in a thrilling six game Fall Classic. Jones finished the series with a .286 batting average, as well as three RBI and three runs scored. Used during the 1996 postseason, Chipper’s Rawlings MS20 model bat displays tremendous game use. The barrel is covered in ball marks with stitch impressions, leather scuffs and ink transfers. There are many bat rack paint streaks all over the bat, and cleat imprints are visible. The handle has a coat of pine tar applied and Chipper’s number “10” is handwritten on the knob which has the model number “MS20 stamped into it.
