The 1999 All Star Game was held in Boston and was played during the peak of baseball’s resurgence due to the home run ball.  Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire were amidst of another spectacular season in the follow up to the record shattering 1998 season.  Ken Griffey Jr. was in his prime and hometown favorite Pedro Martinez struck out the first four batters of the National League, becoming the first pitcher in history to begin the All-Star Game striking out the side.  The Yankees coaching staff was in place as reigning American League Champions and the game resulted in a win for the American League by the final score of 4-1. Willie Randolph as part of the coaching staff collected a series of baseballs signed by the team and three of those baseballs are including in this group of four total All Star team signed baseballs.  Two of these Official 1999 American League All Star Team signed baseballs signatures have faded as well as the ball moderately toned, and on one the signatures strength is far superior than to the other two. The balls include signature total of 31, 32, and 33 signatures with the 31-signature baseball including Hall of Famers Cal Ripken Jr, Pedro Martinez, Derek Jeter, Pedro Martinez, Joe Torre, Ken Griffey Jr, and Mike Mussina.  The baseball consisting of 32 signatures Joe Torre, Derek Jeter, Pedro Martinez, Cal Ripken Jr., and Mike Mussina.  The third baseball which has slightly bolder signatures than the other two contains 33 signatures including Hall of Famers Roberto Alomar, Derek Jeter, Ken Griffey Jr., Joe Torre, and Cal Ripken Jr. 

In addition to the three 1999 All Star Game Team signed baseballs, the lot also includes a 2000 Official All Star Game Team Signed Baseball signed by the National League team with 25 signatures including Hall of Famers Bobby Cox, Barry Bonds, Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, and Vladimir Guerrero.  This baseball is lightly toned with bold signatures in blue ink.  The baseballs come from the collection of then Yankees coach Willie Randolph who will provide a signed LOA and this lot has been pre-certified by Beckett Authentication.
