Cleveland Browns tailback William Green wore this brown Cleveland home jersey on December 29th, 2002 as the Atlanta Falcons visited Cleveland in a Week 17 matchup at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Green, a rookie first round pick out of Boston College, rushed 27 times for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Green scored first on a 21-yard scamper in the second quarter before icing the game with a 64-yard touchdown burst late in the fourth quarter. The 64-yard rush was the longest of Green’s career, while his 178 rushing yards also represent a career-high. Green rushed for 887 yards and six scores in his rookie season, leading the Browns to a 9-7 record and a playoff appearance under coach Butch Davis.
This offered Browns jersey is brown, with Green’s number “31” sewn on the chest, back, and shoulders in white tackle twill. “GREEN” is sewn across the back shoulders in white tackle twill over a matching brown nameplate. Reebok logos are sewn on each sleeve, and an “AL” memorial patch for owner Al Lerner is sewn on the chest. A Reebok size “46” tag with an attached “2[inch] L.B.” flag is sewn on the front left tail. “02-46” and “L” swatches are sewn on the back inside collar. Team repairs are present on the jersey. This jersey has been photo matched to the December 29th game by RGU, who have provided a LOA.
