The decade-long career of the current Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman includes four All-Star appearances, 233 home runs and a .294 batting average. Gonzalez signed his name on the sweet spot of this gamer in vivid black Sharpie. This intact 35-inch, 31.4-oz. game-used, ash Louisville Slugger Model G175 exhibits evidence of heavy use: several black, bat rack streaks are noticeable on the front, top, rear and bottom of the barrel; ball scuff marks are visible on the sweet spot, rear and bottom of the barrel. The handle is white taped from knob, nine inches up the handle. Evidence of pine tar is found on and above the tape. The knob is inscribed in black marker with Gonzalez’s number, “68.” The bat’s barrel is engraved with “GENUINE G175/ADRIAN GONZALEZ/Louisville Slugger.” The labeling period for this bat is 2001, and the bat was used by Gonzalez as a member of the Kane County Cougars of the Midwest League. This is the earliest known Gonzalez bat to surface.
