This offered piece of baseball history is from Derek Jeter, one of the grittiest players ever to don the Yankee pinstripes. This game used Derek Jeter batting cap from the 1998 season where Jeter led the American League in runs with 127 and finished the season with 203 hits and a loft .324 batting average. Jeter led the Yankees to a franchise record 114 wins and a second World Series title in three seasons.
This New Era 59Fifty New York Yankees wool cap features the iconic interlocking “NY” in raised white embroidery. The cap is a size 7 1/8 and the MLB logo patch is sewn on the back at its base. Jeter’s number “2” is handwritten in black marker on the gray underside brim. The number displays slight bleeding. This cap displays excellent game use with dirt and sweat stains on the inner lining and toning on the interlocking “NY”. Jeter has signed his name in silver marker on the brim. This comes with a LOA from JT Sports for the game use and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A18684) for Jeter’s signature.
