Known for his defensive prowess and base stealing, "Scoops" Carey is featured on this MacGregor baseball. Modestly, Carey chose a side panel for the placement of his Mint blue ballpoint signature on this creamy-toned sphere and added the inscription, "Best Always" above. An additional inscription ("1954") has been signed in an unknown hand. This ball comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A04819) and a LOA from PSA/DNA (AH87073). Both Beckett and PSA/DNA have awarded this signature a MINT 9 assessment. Carey, a 1961 Hall of Fame inductee, passed away in 1976.
