The American League topped the National League, 4-1, in 1999, but the game itself may have been an afterthought, factoring in all the other festivities that took place that night at Fenway. Prior to the Classic, the host Boston Red Sox honored Hall of Famer Ted Williams, who threw out the ceremonial first pitch and was promptly encircled and celebrated by all the players present on the field. Earlier, Williams Stan Musial, Willie Mays and Hank Aaron were among those honored as part of Major League Baseball’s All-Century Team.
Offered here is a large equipment bag that was gifted to the legend Ted Williams. This navy bag has red handles and red zippers. The 1999 All-Star Game logo patch is sewn on the center top and below the logo patch is embroidered in red “Ted Willliams”, “9” and the Red Sox hanging socks logo. The bag was made by Gerry Cosby Athletic Outfitters based out of Madison Square Garden in New York City. There is a Cosby tag on the zipper with Williams’ number “9” in red McAuliffe style. This bag is excellent condition and a great memento from one of the most memorable All-Star Games in history.
