Considered the greatest closer of all-time, it’s fitting that the first player ever elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame unanimously was Mariano Rivera. Rivera spent his entire career with the New York Yankees, where he amassed a Major League-high 652 saves and a 2.21 ERA. Rivera was the anchor of the great Yankees’ bullpens that won five World Series titles from 1996 to 2009. Rivera began his march to Cooperstown with his call-up in 1995 as a starter, going 5-3 in 10 starts.

Offered here is a New York Yankees size 7 3/8 cap worn by Rivera during the 1995 season. This navy cap features the interlocking “NY” embroidered in raised white stitching on the front. The inside sweatband has “A Diamond Collection, a “New Era the 59/50 PRO MODEL 100% WOOL” and “100% WOOL SIZE 7 3/8” tags are sewn on the sweatband. Rivera’s number “#42” has been handwritten on the inside from pleat in black marker. This hat displays excellent game use with sweat and dirt stains on the gray underside brim and interior head band. Rivera has signed his name in dark blue marker on the underside brim and inscribed “#42”. This cap comes with a LOA from JT Sports for the game use and COA from Beckett Authentication (H24494) for Rivera’s signature.
