Maris eventually pulled ahead, hitting the record-breaking number 61 on the last day of the season. The two sluggers led the Yanks to back-to-back World Championships in 61 and 62 and will be forever tied together in baseball history. Both Yankees superstars have signed this Official American League Lee MacPhail stamped baseball. Roger Maris signed his name in bold blue pen on the sweet spot, while Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle added his signature on the adjacent east panel. This ball displays uneven toning, but the signatures are clear and the stampings are still bright. This ball comes with a LOA from JSA (Z29476).
