After spending the first eight seasons with the American League Kansas City Royals, two-time Cy Young Award winner Brett Saberhagen signed with the National League New York Mets to start the 1992 season. For the first time in his career, Saberhagen would have to bat on a semi-regular basis. This offered helmet was worn by Saberhagen during his seasons with the Mets and was manufactured by American Baseball Cap Company (ABC) and is a size 7 3/8, displaying excellent game use. The front of the helmet has the Mets interlocking “NY” in orange and an ear flap on the left ear for right-handed batters. Please note there is a slight chip on the “Y” portion of the sticker. The interior of the helmet has a tan leather headband pad and all of the padding is still intact. “SABES” is in white on a blue sticker that is affixed to the front of the brim and the back of the helmet. Saberhagen has signed this helmet in silver marker on the brim. This comes with a LOA from JT Sports for the game use and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A25399) for the signature.
