Offered is a Kirk Gibson signature on a Stephen Holland limited-edition giclee print of the former Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star as he rounded the bases with his historic 1988 World Series home run. Gibson has signed the canvas in gold paint pen above his image in the painting, while the artist, Holland, has signed his name in the lower right center. “38/88” is below his signature. This print was produced in a total of 88, with 25 artists proofs and 25 printers’ proofs. The 27 ½ x 42-inch stretched canvas depicts Gibson, in his white Dodgers uniform, arms upraised in color, with a royal blue, black, and gold background of images including multiple photographic images of Gibson pumping his fists, images of the 1988 World Series championship rings received by the Dodgers, and Gibson’s name repeated at the center.  While with the Dodgers, Gibson was named the National League MVP in 1988. In game 1 of the 1988 World Series, Gibson faced heralded closer Dennis Eckersley and hit a pinch-hit walk-off home run—often described as one of the most exciting moments in World Series history.
