For the second time since the franchise relocated from Washington, D.C., the Minnesota Twins won the World Series. Only four years after the 1987 win, the 1991 Fall Classic was one of the most dramatic World Series of all-time. Thanks to heroics of Hall of Famers Kirby Puckett and Jack Morris, the Twins defeated the Atlanta Braves in seven games and won on their last at-bat. Offered in this lot are a 1991 World Series player trophy and a 1985-87 game used Twins cap worn by first baseman Kent Hrbek.

The World Series trophy is modeled after the one presented to the team. Written on the gold band surrounding the base is: "WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS MINNESOTA TWINS 1991." The press pins for the Twins and Braves are displayed at the bottom with the pennants of all 26 major league teams surrounding the crown and baseball in the center starting with the Baltimore Orioles on the left and the Atlanta Braves on the right. Some of the flags are loose, but still intact with the Mariners’ flag slightly leaning. The trophy measures approximately 12 inches tall.

Hrbek’s hat was worn by the first baseman during the 1985 through 1987 seasons. This size 7 ¼ New Era cap has the Twins’ “M” logo sewn on the front in red and white stitching. Hrbek’s number “14” is handwritten in black marker on the green underside of the brim. The inside sweat band has an MLB logo flag and New Era tag. Hrbek has signed his name in black marker on the underside of the brim and inscribed “#14”. This hat displays excellent game use. This hat comes with a LOA from JT Sports for the game use and a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A25587) for the signature.
