Hall of Famer Jimmie Foxx was one of the elite home run hitters in baseball history. As a member of the 500 Home Run Club, Foxx finished his career with 534 home runs and enshrinement into Cooperstown. Foxx nearly reached the 300 home run mark during the September 12th, 1935 game at Shibe Park in Philadelphia when his A’s were hosting the Chicago White Sox. Foxx hit two runs during that game, his 32nd and 33rd home runs of the 1935 season as the Athletics defeated the White Sox 11-2. Foxx’s second home run, a 2-run shot in the bottom of the sixth inning off Carl Fischer was his 299th of his storied career.
Offered here is the very ball Foxx hit for his 299th career home run on September 12th, 1935. This Official American League William Harridge stamped ball. As one would expect, this ball displays excellent game use and Foxx has signed his name on the side panel and inscribed “35 Home Run 1935” which is faded. This ball comes with a LOA from MEARS (314905) for the game use, attributing this ball to Foxx’s 299th career home run on September 12th, 1935. There are individual LOAs from PSA/DNA (AC00698) and JSA (Y91491) for Foxx’s signature, with JSA authenticating the faded inscription.
