Presented is a Lucille Ball signature on a check dated May 29, 1959. The famed actress and television star of the pioneering sit-com “I Love Lucy” has signed the check in the lower right corner “Lucille Ball Arnaz” in blue pen. The Bank of America check on the business account of “Lucille Ball Arnaz 780 North Gower Street Hollywood 38, California” was for $1,000 and made payable to the joint account of Desi Arnaz-Lucille Ball Arnaz. Lucille Bally was the star of the self-produced sitcoms “I Love Lucy”, “The Lucy Show”, “Here's Lucy”, and “Life with Lucy”, as well as comedy television specials aired under the title The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour. Not only a talented performer in front of the camera, Ball was a shrewd producer behind the camera, not only in the production of her famous sit-coms, but also in the development of other television landmarks, including The Untouchables, Mission: Impossible, Star Trek and Mannix for her company, Desilu Productions. She sold her studio, the backlot and production facilities, as well as the intellectual property, to Paramount Pictures/Gulf + Western in 1967.
