This spectacular and large, panoramic photo (measuring approximately 8 x 31 inches) was produced by J. Bodziak of Philadelphia. Its incredible presentation features the 1929 World Champion Philadelphia A's team members posing together, side-by-side, at Shibe Park. Connie Mack stands at the glorious image's center, and the venerable manager is flanked by 26 team members (and the batboy) including future Hall of Famers Eddie Collins, Mickey Cochrane, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons and Lefty Grove.

Along with the famed 1927 Yankees, the 1929 A's have long ranked among the greatest teams ever assembled. The squad finished with an astounding 104-46 record – a full 18 games ahead of the second-place Yanks. Al Simmons had a monster year, batting .365 with 34 HRs and a league-leading 157 RBI. The A's then capped off their "season for the ages" in decisive fashion with a 4-games-to-1 trouncing of the Chicago Cubs in the 1929 World Series. We must note that the signature of Mickey Cochrane is a stamp. Signing against their respective images, these 1929 champions proceed (as posed left-to-right): Eddie Collins, Wm. "Kid" Gleason, Walter French, Jimmy Dykes, Jimmie Cronin, Homer Summa, Max Bishop, Sam Hale, Bevo LeBourveau, Mickey Cochrane (stamp), Cy Perkins, Bill Breckinridge, Jimmie Foxx ("9-9.5" strength), Lawrence Moore/batboy, Bing Miller, Al Simmons, Eddie Rommel, Rube Walberg, Lefty Grove, Howard Ehmke, George Earnshaw, Jack Quinn, George "Mule" Haas, Bill Shores, George Burns, Joe Boley and Earle Mack. (Connie Mack is the only individual pictured who did not sign.) Routine folds from rolled storage are visible but hardly detract from the sharply focused piece's overall EX presentation quality. Minor peripheral discrepancies (two pinholes at the right edge, and small corner-tip pieces absent at the left) will be easily concealed by standard framing. This item hails from the Jimmie Foxx collection and comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A25570) and a commemorative edition bat signed by family member Samuel Dell Foxx.
