A very beautiful 1930’s portrait of a smiling Lou Gehrig taken by famed Chicago photographer George Burke. Original Burke photos are highly sought after and this is a Type I photo, meaning it has been printed from the original negative within 2 years of the image being shot. The
image has a warm sepia coloration to it and is striking in and of itself, but it is pushed to a higher level by the gorgeous signature added by Gehrig. “To Jerry- With my kindest Personal Regards Cordially, Lou Gehrig” is flawlessly written in black fountain pen in the lower
right corner. The piece has been professionally mounted in a black matte which makes the warm colored portrait virtually pop from its black frame. Letter of Authenticity number 1P03797 from PSA/DNA who have given this stunning autographed photo a grade of 9.
