Over a 16-year career, Charles Barkley appeared in 11 All Star games and won an NBA MVP award (’92 – ’93). The fifth overall pick in the 1984 draft, Barkley was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2006. Barkley signed the red-side of this jersey in black Sharpie. The MacGregor Sand-Knit reversible game-used practice jersey is red mesh on one side with “Sixers” and “34” appliquéd on the front (and “34” on back) in blue-trimmed white lettering. The NBA and “M” MacGregor logos are ironed to the left shoulder strap. The reverse side is white mesh with “Sixers” and “34” appliquéd (and “34” on back) in red-trimmed blue lettering. The white cloth MacGregor tag with embroidered gold crown is stitched to inner side seam. A smaller material (100% Nylon) and washing instruction tag is sewn adjacent. Evidence of game use includes, and is limited to, cracking appliqué numbers and dimming whiteness of mesh. Included with the jersey is an 8” x 10” color photograph showing Barkley putting this jersey on the consignor when the latter was a NBA half-time entertainer as a child. Barkley signed the photo in black Sharpie. An LOA from game-worn jersey expert, Dave Miedema is included, as is one from Jeremy Kable, who received the item directly from the player/team during his NBA performance tours.
