Hall of Famer Derek Jeter had many milestone firsts in his storied career. Before he even made the Big Leagues, Jeter made his Triple A debut with the Columbus Clippers on August 1, 1994. In typical Jeter fashion, the future Yankees’ captain got his first AAA hit. Jeter’s debut and first Triple A hit and run scored were all done while wearing this offered home white with blue pinstriped Columbus Clippers jersey, which has been photo matched by Resolution Photomatching to the August 1st, 1994 game. This jersey has also been photo matched to Jeter’s Columbus Clippers ultra-rare Kroger yearbook card (#4 perforated)

This size XL button-down jersey was manufactured by Betlin Mfg. Co of Columbus, Ohio, whose tag is sewn on the inside back collar. The front of his jersey has the Columbus Clippers logo patch sewn on the upper left chest. The collar and sleeve ends have blue and white stripes. Both sleeves have remnants of patches that have since been removed. The left sleeve had the Minor League patch and the right sleeve had the MLB 125th Anniversary patch. The MLB 125th Anniversary patch is included with this jersey, but is not attached. The back of this jersey has Jeter’s original number with the team “24”, which is sewn on in blue tackle twill. This jersey displays moderate game use with some stains and loose threads on the tackle twill numbers. A wonderful opportunity to own an early career Derek Jeter gamer tied to a milestone event. This comes with a LOA from MEARS (316664) and has been graded a near-perfect A9, a copy of the original LOA from the Columbus Clippers who state that Jeter wore this jersey in 1994 and that “24” was his original number and a LOA from Resolution Photomatching (426516), who have photo matched this jersey to Jeter’s first Triple A game, hit and run scored. Please note that the image of the 1995 Columbus Clippers Derek Jeter Yearbook - Perforated graded card pictured in this lot is not included with the jersey.
