Cincinnati Reds star second baseman Brandon Phillips is a three-time All-Star and Gold Glove winner who has emerged as one of baseball’s top infielders. He likely used the Reds’ entire supply of pine tar on this 2011 game-used and signed black Louisville Slugger, which measures 35 inches and weighs 30.7 ounces. Nearly ¾ of the bat is smothered in pine tar and a significant crack rests on the lower handle. The bat has moderate grain swelling on the barrel just above Phillips’ signature, which appears in silver ink with the words “Game Used” smeared to the right. Several ball marks are imprinted around Phillips’ signature, while bat rack streaks and cleat marks are also prevalent. The bat shows extraordinary use and would be a valuable addition to any collection. The bat comes with a PSA/DNA LOA.
