Entering the final week of the 1948 regular season, the Chicago Cardinals were tied with the cross-town Chicago Bears with 10-1 records, and they faced each other that final week. The Cardinals were down 21-10 in the fourth quarter before scoring the last two touchdowns, and pulling out a 24-21 victory and the Western Division Championship. However, the Cardinals would lose the overall NFL title to the Philadelphia Eagles. A tackle on that team was Dick Loepfe, who was presented this wristwatch for this title. This gold Hamilton watch is engraved on the back “Chicago Cardinals N.F.L. Western Champions 1948 Dick Loepfe.” This watch still works and it still retains an excellent appearance.
