Richard Nixon was the running mate of Dwight D Eisnehower, the Republican Party's presidential nominee in the 1952 election, serving for eight years in that capacity. He waged an unsuccessful presidential campaign in 1960, narrowly losing to John F. Kennedy. In 1968, he ran for the presidency again and was elected, defeating Hubert Humphrey and George Wallace in a close election.

This lot includes two Richard Nixon signed items, a photograph of Nixon standing in a suit that has been framed and matted.  The matting features a signature of President Nixon in black ink and offers the salutation “To Steve Martini, From his friend” The second item in the lot is a Signed Christmas Church Service program, and a third photograph which has not been signed.  The unsigned photograph shows President Richard Nixon and family seated in the front row with the Martini Family on December 14, 1969 during the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church Service in Washington DC.  They are all gathers and smiling, and in each of their hands is a program from this service.  This lot offers up one of those programs signed on that very day by President Richard Nixon.  The program is signed boldly in black ink across the front.  Both signed items have been authenticated by Beckett Authentication and come with individual LOAs.
