There won’t be another Presidential glass collection offered like this one for some time.  The collection comes from White House Barber Steve Martini, close confidant with Lyndon Baines Johnson and John F. Kennedy and includes five pieces of glassware.  The first item in the group is a goblet commemorating the Inauguration of LBJ.  The second and third glasses in the collection is a pair of elegant scotch glasses that bear finely cut images of horses with the initials “LBJ” largely across the front of each.  I am sure it was must have been nice opening a bottle of scotch and enjoying a drink with the president prior to, during or after one of his hair cuts on some much-needed down time. 

The final two glasses in the collection is a pair of drinking glasses that feature the portrait of every US president with the years of service.  The glasses can be dated to John F. Kennedy’s term as president as they each show an image of Kennedy with the dates “1961 –“ indicating Kennedy was still an active President.  Coming directly from the Official White House barber’s collection, this set of five glasses is as genuine as any ever offered.  The lot will be accompanied by a letter of provenance by the son of Steve Martini.
