Hideki Matsui was one of Japan's biggest stars when he went from the Yomiuri Giants, called the "Yankees of Japanese baseball" to the real New York Yankees. The 2-time All-Star was the Yank's designated hitter on September 3, 2008, the day this bat was used. Matsui went 1 for 4 with an RBI single in the 8-4 win over Tampa Bay. The Mizuno NY55 bat shows terrific game use. The handle had been cracked in two pieces but has been repaired with glue. Ball marks and stitch impressions can be seen on the barrel and the light colored wood shows green bat rack paint streaks. The impression from a weighted batting donut is present. A light coat of Mota Stick is on the handle and the bat's model number "NY55" is stamped into the knob end. PSA/DNA sticker number 1B05290 is affixed to the barrel end. MLB hologram sticker numbers BB 921758 and BB 921759 are affixed to the barrel and knob end. Matsui has signed the barrel (9/10) in blue Sharpie next to the "MATSUI" brand and added his number "55". Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
