The mid-1960s Cincinnati Reds were in the midst of a slide, only four years removed from a World Series appearance, but a few years away from the start of the Big Red Machine. The 1966 team finished in the second division (7th Place), only 18 games behind the pennant winning Los Angeles Dodgers. This beautiful near white ONL Giles ball includes 32 blue ink signatures, mostly ("6-8", a few lesser) but with a half dozen bold ("10") beauties. On one side panel is a very early Peter Rose signature. Includes: Dave Bristol, Whitey Wietelmann, Jim O'Toole, Dick Simpson, Joe Nuxhall, Jim Maloney, Gordy Coleman, Leo Cardenas, Don Pavletich, Ted Davidson, Mel Queen, Milt Pappas, Chico Ruiz, Vern Benson, Darrell Osteen, Tony Perez, Sammy Ellis, Billy McCool, Lee May, Peter Rose, Tom Harper, Jim Coker, Vada Pinson (label), Don Zanni, Art Shamsky, Don Nottebart, John Edwards, Jack Baldschun, Deron Johnson plus a couple others. This is a tremendous team singed ball including a very early Pete Rose (1966 was his first .300 season) plus tougher signatures of Dave Bristol, Deron Johnson and Chico Ruiz. Ruiz, who passed very young in 1972, has a beautiful signature but the Capital "R" is slightly obscured by a small stain. Full LOA from PSA/DNA, cert number T05538.
