Even the greatest players have a tough day, and this bat was used in one of them–the April 20, 2019 game against Seattle. Superstar Mike Trout, undeniably the best player in the game, was starting the season off with a nice .315 average, but had an off day hitting against Mariners pitchers Yusei Kikuchi, Connor Sadzeck and Cory Gearrin. Trout did manage a 1st inning walk off Kikuchi. As baseball is a 162 game season Mike Trout was able to look at that game as an oddity as he slugged his way to a .292, 45 home runs and 110 RBI season, earning him his third MVP Award.
This bat is not only signed and authenticated by the Angels legend but has been definitively photo matched to that 2019 MVP season game. The Old Hickory MT27* model bat displays excellent use and is un-cracked. The barrel shows several ball marks and abrasions along with blue ink transfers. The handle has been taped with Lizard Skins to enhance the grip and the impression of a weighted batting donut is present on the barrel. Trout has signed the barrel in bold silver marker adding, “G/U 19.” This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18430) for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10 and a LOA from Anderson Authentics (4101) for the game use and signature.
