Presented is a Charles Lindbergh signature on a black and white magazine page photograph of the aviation pioneer, in a framed display. “Lucky Lindy” has signed his name “C. A. Lindbergh” in black pen in the upper left center of the 7 x 9-inch photo, which depicts him in front of his famous airplane, The Spirit of St. Louis. At age 25 in 1927, Lindbergh went from obscurity as a U. S. Air Mail pilot to instantaneous world fame by making a nonstop flight from New York to Paris. Lindbergh covered the 33½-hour, 3,600-mile flight alone in a purpose-built, single-engine Ryan monoplane, the Spirit of St. Louis. Although not the first non-stop transatlantic flight, this was the first solo transatlantic flight, the first transatlantic flight between two major city hubs, and the longest transatlantic flight by almost 2,000 miles, thus it is widely known as a turning point in aviation history. The signed magazine photo is mounted in a navy-blue matte and displayed in a 13 x 15-inch gold engraved wood and glass frame. This item comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AE07843) which has graded the signature MINT 9.
