Legendary Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz wore these high-top New Balance baseball cleats during the 2016 MLB season, his final year in the Majors. Ortiz left Red Sox fans wanting more, finishing the year with 38 home runs and the American League RBI crown. “Big Papi” hit .315 during his final campaign, earning an All-Star nod and the American League Silver Slugger award for the designated hitter position. During the 2017 MLB season, the Red Sox honored Ortiz by retiring his number “34” jersey, placing him in the company of Red Sox heroes like Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski.
These cleats are gray with black and red trim with the New Balance logo on each side in fluorescent yellow. “34” is applied to each heel in black and red. “809” is printed in black on the outside of each of the size 12 1/2 cleats. A Dominican Republic crest is printed on the tongue of each cleat. The bottoms have molded rubber spikes and the “NB” logo. Ortiz has signed his name in faded blue marker next to the “809” on each cleat. These come with a LOA from David Ortiz.
