Platoon outfielder/first baseman Jim Norris wore this size-44 Cleveland Indians alternate home jersey during his 1977 rookie season. Norris would spend three seasons with the tribe and one in Texas retiring from the major leagues at 31 in 1980 but that’s not what makes this jersey so special. The dated 1970s post psychedelic design is now retro-cool. The bright red and white V-neck collar and sleeve cuffs and Chief Wahoo patch on the sleeve are immediately eye-catching. The choppy, tribal Indians lettering in red and white tackle twill has bled into pink with the white fabric absorbing the red trim. The same white to pink fade has happened to the number 27 on the back of the jersey but Norris name remains stitched in white tackle twill across the back of the jersey. Size 44 Wilson tag is stitched into back of jersey below the collar and a number “77” year patch is attached on the lower left front tail. Jersey shows heavy wear with fabric compression, puckered lettering and frayed anchor stitching; comes with Mears Letter of Authenticity, grading A-8.
