In a whole generation of steroid-tainted ballplayers, one ballplayer stood tall and clean above all others - Ken Griffey, Jr. Smacking home run after home run the old fashioned way, Griffey was the model of power and integrity. In 2001 the 13 time All-Star made the decision to turn down the big bucks and return to his hometown of Cincinnati and play for the Reds. It was a shocking decision and said much for the sluggers love of the game and small town roots. This home white pinstripe vest is from Junior’s last great season. Hampered by injuries made worse by his play-hard style, Griffey none-the-less forged a .301 average and 35 home runs for 2005. The classic Reds jersey shows nice wear. The timeless “REDS” and wishbone “C” logo appears on the left front in red, black and white tackle twill. Junior’s number “30” in red, black and white tackle twill is sewn to the right front. Griffey signed just below his number in black Sharpie. Majestic label is sewn in the lower left front tail with added “46” and “PROPERTY OF CINCINNATI REDS 2005” tagging. The back features “GRIFFEY” above his number “30” in red, black and white tackle twill. Letter of Authenticity from MEARS who gave this great jersey a perfect grade of A10. Signature authenticated by PSA/DNA.
