The New York Yankees won their 15th American League pennant in 1947, finishing with a record of 97-57 under manager Bucky Harris. The Yankees matched up against the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1947 Fall Classic, defeating their Senior Circuit opponents in a riveting seven-game series. This offered Official American League William Harridge stamped baseball has been signed by 17 members of the 1947 World Series-winning squad. Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio signed his name in blue pen across the sweet spot. The south panel has the signatures of Hall of Famer Yogi Berra, Aaron Robinson, George McQuinn, Ralph Houk and George Stirnweiss. The north panel has John Lindell, Speck Shea, Hall of Famer Phil Rizzuto and Allie Clark. The east panel with the Reach stamp has Spud Chandler, Billy Johnson and Joe Page, while the west panel has the signatures of Bill Bevens, Vic Raschi, Allie Reynolds, Bobby Brown and Charlie Keller. The ball is in excellent condition with the signatures still bold and strong with only DiMaggio, Houk and Page lighter. This ball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (E35068) and has been graded a NM-MT 8 for the signatures, the ball and overall.
