Hall of Fame defensive end Chris Doleman wore this San Francisco 49ers home jersey the 1997 season. Doleman joined the 49ers in 1996 after spending the first 11 years of his career with the Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons. The former Pitt Panther, despite starting his 49ers career at the age of 35, recorded 11, 12, and 15 sacks in his first three seasons with the West Coast team. Doleman, one of the best pass rushers in NFL history, finished his career with 150.5 sacks, good for fifth all-time.
This offered red 49ers home jersey has been photo matched to the November 23, 1997 game by RGU. Doleman’s number “56” sewn on the chest, back, and shoulders in white, gold, and black tackle twill. “DOLEMAN” is sewn across the back shoulders in white and black tackle twill over a matching red nameplate. A black and white striped pattern with a 49ers’ logo and a white Reebok logo has been printed on each sleeve. The paint shows fading on the sleeves. An NFL logo patch is sewn on the collar and a Reebok size “50” tag has been sewn on the back inside collar. A Reebog size 50 tag is sewn on the inside back collar, while an additional Reebok PRO LINE 1997 tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail. Doleman has signed the “5” digit on the back of the jersey in black marker and inscribed “HOF” and also inscribed “Game Used” on the “6”. This jersey shows light to heavy game wear with team repairs, scuff and other abrasion marks. This comes with LOAs from RGU and PM&G for the game use and has been photo matched by RGU, plus a LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
