This Adirondack was used by Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt as he helped lead the Philadelphia Phillies out of the second division into being pennant contenders in 1979. That last year Schmidt hit 43 homers, breaking the franchise record for single-season home runs set back in 1929. The next year would be his finest, winning both the NL MVP and World Series MVP as he almost single-handedly beat the Royals in the 1980 Fall Classic. The flame-burned Adirondack MS20 model bat shows outstanding game use with a repaired handle crack. Many ball marks with stitch impressions are visible on the right and left barrel along with black ink transfers. There are cleat marks present and red bat rack paint streaks. The handle has a light coat of pine tar and the knob has Schmidt’s number “20” in black marker and the weight “31” handwritten in pencil. The Hall of Famer has signed the barrel of this exquisite gamer in black marker. A tremendous gamer from the heart of Mike Schmidt’s career. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (E36444) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9 and a LOA from Beckett Authentication (A23664) for the signature.
