The late superstar Kobe Bryant has signed this commemorative jersey honoring his legendary 81-point game against the Toronto Raptors on January 22nd, 2006 at Staples Center. Bryant shot an incredible 28 of 46 from the field, including 7 of 13 from beyond the arc and 18 of 20 at the free throw line, to single-handedly earn Los Angeles a 122-104 win. Bryant’s astronomical scoring total is the second-highest single-game tally in NBA history, behind only Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point outburst against the New York Knicks in March of 1962.
The jersey offered in this lot is a white Sunday home jersey with “LAKERS” and Bryant’s number “8” sewn on the chest of the jersey in purple and gold tackle twill. “BRYANT” and a second “8” are sewn on the back of the jersey in the same fashion. Sewn on the front tail of the jersey in purple lettering is “Kobe Bryant / 81 Point Game / January 22, 2006 / Lakers vs Raptors / ‘I Was Just Locked In’ / #3 of 8”. Bryant has signed the “8” digit on the chest of the jersey in silver marker. A Nike tag with an attached size “50” flag is sewn on the front left tail. This jersey comes with a COA from Upper Deck Authentication (BAH89087).
