The loss of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna in January of 2020 profoundly rocked the basketball world, with one of the most beloved, imitated, and respected NBA players of all-time passing away under the most tragic of circumstances. The five-time NBA champion and 2007-08 NBA MVP battled his way to a 25.0 points per game scoring average across his 20-season career, with 18 All-Star nods illustrating his massive impact on the game of basketball. The former Lower Merion High School standout is the crown in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s Class of 2020 and an icon who will be remembered forever.

Offered in this lot is a Spalding basketball signed by Kobe Bryant, accompanied by a ticket stub linking the ball to the Footlocker FILA Summer Pro League event on July 12th, 1996 between Team China and Magic Johnson’s All-Star team. This event took place less than a month after Bryant was drafted, just before his rookie season of 1996-97. Bryant has signed his name in black marker on the ball with the inscription “#8”. This historic basketball comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication Services.

Please note that this lot has a 25% Buyer’s Premium (28% if payment is made using a credit card and/or is not paid within 10 days of invoice). Goldin Auctions will be donating 5% of the winning bid price to the MambaOnThree Fund.
