Amid the team’s World Series Championship campaign in 2009, the New York Yankees hosted Detroit, Baltimore and Oakland over a 10-day home stand in late July. This plate was used in the home bullpen by Yankee relievers. Mariano Rivera boldly and largely signed the plate in vivid black Sharpie. The plate bears evidence of heavy use, including caked mud on the all five black edges, and abraded and gouged white center.
