This program from the 1942 World Series played between the New York Yankees and the St. Louis Cardinals features a young baseball fan along with his dog buying war bonds/stamps from a service woman. Inside the program are player biographies along with black and white portraits of players from both clubs. The scorecards on the inside have been partially filled out in pencil and based on the markings, it appears this program was from Game 3. Due to WWII both team’s rosters were depleted but the series allowed the American public to have a moment away from the horrors of war and enjoy a game that they loved. The New York Yankees would go on to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals 4 games to 1 to win the 1942 World Series. This program is in good condition with minor edge and corner wear.
