Ya Gotta Believe! The New York Mets were only in their 8th season of existence when they shocked the Chicago Cubs, the Baltimore Orioles, and the baseball world by winning the 1969 World Series. After mounting one of the great late-season comebacks in baseball history to surge past the slumping Chicago Cubs and win the NL East crown, the Mets swept the Atlanta Braves 3-0 in the NLCS to win their first National League Pennant and a berth in the World Series.

Very few gave the Mets a chance, as the Baltimore Orioles squad they were set to face boasted a powerhouse lineup that included Frank Robinson, Brooks Robinson, Boog Powell and Paul Blair, two 20-game winners in Dave McNally and Mike Cuellar, and a 24-year old 16-game winner named Jim Palmer. The Amazin’s were on a mission, however, as they took 4 of 5 from the O’s in winning their 1st World Series title and earning the nickname “The Miracle Mets”.

26 members of that historic team have signed this Official National League Warren Giles baseball. Manager Gil Hodges’ signature is on the sweet spot in blue pen. Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan’s signature is on the west panel with the Spalding stamp, along with the signatures of Ron Swoboda, Ken Boswell and Donn Clendenon. The east panel has the signatures of Tug McGraw, Ron Taylor, Jack DiLauro, Ed Charles, Gary Gentry and Ed Kranepool. The north panel has the signatures of Joe Pignatano, Tommy Agee, Jim McAndrew, Jerry Koosman, Ed Charles, Jerry Grote and Don Cardwell (signed vertically along the stitching). The south panel has the signatures of Cal Koonce, Wayne Garrett, Bob Pfeil, Rod Gaspar, Hall of Famer Tom Seaver and two other signatures. This ball is in excellent condition, displaying only minimal toning and the stampings are very clear and bold. Please note that the signatures of Al Weiss and J.C. Martin have been deemed clubhouse versions. This ball comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication.
