Spain won their first FIFA World Cup title in 2010 as their “Golden Generation” reached its terrifying peak. Led by the midfield virtuosos of Xavi and Andres Iniesta, La Furia Roja defeated the Netherlands 1-0 in extra time of a tempestuous final match that saw a record 14 yellow cards issued. Iniesta scored the winning goal four minutes from penalties, and seven minutes after Dutch defender John Heitinga was ejected after receiving his second yellow card of the match. Offered in this lot is a winner’s medal presented to the Spain national soccer team. The medal features a high relief etching of the FIFA World Cup trophy on the front, while the back of the medal is etched with “2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa”. The medal is attached to a blue ribbon printed with “FIFA” in white. The medal comes with a LOA from a CBF employee.
