The 2009 season was a landmark year for the New York Yankees. Gone was the original Yankee Stadium, which made way for the brand-new Yankee Stadium that opened its doors in 2009. The Yankees would go on to win the franchise’s 27th World Series title and first in their new building. Another historic feat in Yankees history occurred when Hall of Famer Derek Jeter passed fellow Hall of Famer on the team’s all-time hit list with 2,722 hits. This offered Official Major League Allan H. Selig ball was used during that September 11, 2009 game in which Jeter became the Yankees all-time hits leader. This ball displays excellent game use with dirt marks and abrasions. Jeter has signed his name in light blue pen below the commemorative “Yankee Stadium Inaugural Season” stamp on the side panel. Jeter inscribed “2722” beneath his name. This ball comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (LH617802), authenticating that this ball was used during the first inning of the September 11, 2009 game at Yankee Stadium between the Yankees and Orioles and that Jeter signed this ball via Steiner Sports on December 2, 2009. There is also a LOA from Steiner Sports (97342).
