Presented is a rare Ralph Kiner signature with his full name, “Ralph McPherran Kiner”, on an Official National League William D. White baseball. The Hall of Fame Pittsburgh Pirates slugger has signed his full name in blue pen on the sweet spot. Kiner, an outfielder, played for the Pirates, Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians from 1946 through 1955. Following his retirement, Kiner served from 1956 through 1960 as General Manager of the Pacific Coast League’s San Diego Padres. He achieved another level of fame when he served as the TV and radio announcer for the New York Mets from the team's inception in 1962 until his death in 2014. Though injuries forced his retirement from active play after 10 seasons, Kiner's tremendous slugging outpaced all of his National League contemporaries between the years 1946 and 1952. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1975. This item comes with a COA from PSA/DNA (X87150).
