Presented is a lot of two single-signed baseballs featuring Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale and former Minnesota Twins shortstop Zollo Versailles. The first item in this lot is a Don Drysdale signature in blue pen on the sweet spot of an Official National League William D White baseball. One of the most dominant pitchers of the late 1950s and the early to mid-1960s, Drysdale won the 1962 Cy Young Award and in 1968 pitched a record six consecutive shutouts and 58 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings. This item comes with a full LOA from JSA (BB15810). The second item in this lot is a Zollo Versailles signature and inscription on an Official American League Bobby Brown baseball. Versailles has signed his name in blue pen on the sweet spot, and inscribed “1965 MVP” below the sweet spot. The Cuban shortstop was the catalyst who led the 1965 Minnesota Twins to their first World Series after moving from Washington to Minnesota, losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers four games to three. The same year he also won the American League Most Valuable Player award, leading the league in plate appearances (728), at-bats (666), runs scored (126), doubles (45), triples (12), extra-base hits (76) and total bases (308), and was second in assists (487) and third in stolen bases (27). He was a near-unanimous winner of the MVP award, receiving 19 of 20 first-place votes. This item comes with a COA from JSA (FF83608).
