Former pitcher Jim Turner spent seven years in the Major Leagues with the Boston Braves, Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees. Offered here is the fielding glove he wore during the 1943 season with the Yankees where he pitched to a 3-0 record and 3.53 ERA. This brown leather glove was manufactured by Wilson and displays heavy game use. The Wilson tag is sewn on the wrist strap, which has a gold-plated Wilson button on the left. The wear is consistent in the pocket and palm and there are abrasion marks throughout. The webbing is still intact and there is a small tear on the palm below the wrist strap. A great gamer from the early 1940’s and this comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA for the game use.
